SOUND QUALITY

On the BRAVIA 8, the screen is the speaker - just like a cinema screen!

Our Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology combines actuators behind the screen that invisibly vibrate with our tweeters to ensure sound comes directly from where it's happening on-screen. Whether it's dialogue from a character's mouth, or an explosion in the distance, everything is perfectly in sync for full, cinematic immersion.

Voice Zoom 3 uses the latest in AI (Artificial Intelligence) machine learning to make dialogue and commentary easier to understand, so even faraway or muffled voices are crystal-clear. This feature even works when connecting one of our latest soundbars to your home theatre set-up.(1)

Everything gets the surround sound treatment on the BRAVIA 8 - even 2ch audio is upscaled to 5.1.2ch quality! 3D Surround Upscaling creates virtual sound from above and the sides using just the TV speakers. With Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X® support, you can experience the thrill of 360 Spatial Sound equipment too.

Simultaneous Audio Output(2) is a new feature that allows you to hear sound from the TV and a connected Bluetooth device at the same time. For example, you and your partner may require different volumes when watching a movie together, or you could even listen from the kitchen using your headphones.

DESIGN

More than just a slimline TV, the BRAVIA 8 is designed to take centre stage in your living room. Our designers have carefully constructed a statement piece to blend harmoniously with your home interior, as well as matching accessories, such as our Sony soundbars.

Our 4-way stand gives you the flexibility to choose between an outside position for large surfaces, an inside position for smaller shelves, and two different soundbar positions. Comprised of thin, flat steel with a metallic hairline finish, it looks great in any environment (and from any angle) but can also be cleverly concealed - place a Sony soundbar on top and it virtually disappears(1)!

Our One Slate Seamless Edge TV design fuses the screen and bezel to minimise distractions and maximise your view. It's premium and smudge-resistant, with a flush one-piece back to grace your home with timeless style. The BRAVIA 8 looks particularly chic when wall mounted, owing to its ultra-thin profile and treated edges that blend with walls.
